As I was walking into a fast food restaurant, I noticed a guy sitting outside in the cold. I went inside and ordered, and after I finished eating, I was about to walk out, when I saw him walking in. He didn't order anything, he just sat down at one of the tables by himself. I felt prompted to talk with him, and hear his story, so I went over and introduced myself. He told me his name was Greg. He said he had been in jail for 15 years, but even so, he felt that God was with him, even during the difficult times. He was hopeful, and had a positive outlook on life. He said his feet were cold and wet because his shoes had gotten soaked from walking through the snow. He wasn't complaining, and he said in one way or another, God was always providing for him. What an inspiration! He reminded me that we will all go through difficult times at some point in our lives, and we may even feel down and out, but not to give up, because there is always hope! As I was leaving, I saw a TJ MAXX store right across from the restaurant. I decided to go in and get a gift a gift card for Greg so he could get some new shoes. I got the gift card, then went back to the restaurant, hoping he would still be there. He was, so I thanked him, gave him the gift card and told him his words had been a blessing to me, and his story of hope was an inspiration. This is a picture of Greg with his gift card. Thank you Greg for sharing your story of hope & encouragement!
